چکیده

The algebraic multigrid (AMG) method is not only efficient in solving for linear systems arising in finite element analyses, but also applicable at a matrix level without geometric information on the domain, different from the geometric multigrid solvers. The present paper proposes a combination of the parallel processing technique and the AMG method as a fast solver for electromagnetic field analyses. The solver performance is demonstrated in an eddy-current analysis. The numerical results show that the parallel AMG solver is a fast solver and has sufficient scalability, as compared with the conventional MICCG solver.

Advancing Analysis Capabilities in Ansys through Solver Technology

This paper describes substantial improvements in analysis capabilities in a large scale commercial finite element program made possible by the implementation of solver technology. The ANSYS program is a commercial finite element analysis program, which has been in use for thirty years. The original code, developed around a direct frontal solver has been expanded over the years to include full f...

Benchmark Tests on ANSYS Parallel Processing Technology

It is extremely important for manufacturing industries to reduce their design process period in order to keep a competitive position in worldwide markets. CAE has been and will have an even more important role in shortening the design process. To effectively use CAE as a part of the design process, the ability of doing analysis in an affordable way, using large-scale real life problems is commo...

Parallel Auxiliary Space AMG Solver for H(div) Problems

In this paper we present a family of scalable preconditioners for matrices arising in the discretization of H(div) problems using the lowest order Raviart-Thomas finite elements. Our approach belongs to the class of “auxiliary space”-based methods and requires only the finite element stiffness matrix plus some minimal additional discretization information about the topology and orientation of m...

Efficient Parallel Preconditioners for High-Order Finite Element Discretizations of H(grad) and H(curl) Problems

In this paper, we study preconditioning techniques for both H(grad) and H(curl) problems. For an H(grad) elliptic problem discretized by high-order finite elements with a hierachical basis of k-th order, we design and analyse an parallel AMG preconditioner based on a two-level method and a block Gauss–Seidel smoothing technique. For an H(curl) elliptic problem discretized by high-order edge fin...

An AMG preconditioner for solving Navier-Stokes equations with moving mesh finite element method

In this paper, we apply an AMG prconditioner to solve the unsteady NavierStokes equations with moving mesh finite element method. 4P1 − P1 element pair is selected, which is based on the data structure of hierarchy geometry tree. We choose two-layer nested meshes including velocity mesh and pressure mesh. AMG preconditioners are designed for PDE solver and divergence-interpolation in moving mes...
